NAKAMICHI 582Z Discrete Head Reference Cassette Deck. What a fantastic deck this is. The controls are easy to use and understand.

There are manual adjustments for bias, level and record head azimuth settings to perfect your recordings. This one owner deck is in fantastic physical and cosmetic condition and has just had a complete restoration. The whole transport mechanism was stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with lubricant only where it was needed.

A new idler tyre, new control belt, counter belt and capstan belt have been fitted and both pinch rollers cleaned. Flywheel end float checked for correct play. All motors have been cleaned and lubricated. Tape guide height, head alignment, head stroke, height, tilt, azimuth, etc have all been precisely adjusted with genuine Nakamichi gauges and test tapes.

All three heads have been cleaned and the transport demagnetized. All of the troublesome polypropylene capacitors have just been replaced and new Nichicon Gold power supply capacitors have been installed. All mode positions (cam timing) were checked and fine tuned, tones calibrated, level meters set up, tape speed adjusted, track alignment, playback level, head alignment, azimuth, frequency response etc all checked as per the service manual. All lamps are working correctly.

Due to the age / fragility of some items, I cannot guarantee that receipt will be without mishap, BUT this is unlikely รข check my feedback.
